Evaluation

For the past three days I have been working on a blog, I was asked to create a blog to include work and inspirations about my work and what revolves around the media industry. This blog includes previous work of mine, energy drink commercials which have giving me ideas for my upcoming production of an energy advert, Posts including links to blogs which have inspired me through the production of my own personal blog and articles of basic media interest.

When starting out my blog I was just posting basic stuff such as trailers for movies and games, throughout the time of being on blogger I have been adding to my blog. I chose a basic template for my blog which is easy to search around and very accessible for any viewer. At first I chose images given on the site when I added and began posting articles I found the picture quiet tacky so I took it down and added a plain colour in the background it may be simple but I found it quiet effective.

After watching my blog grow a bit I wanted to add a header, I created my head on Adobe photoshop using to themes and blending them together with the exclusion option, after blending I added a variety of selected brushes e.g stars, vortex and dragons. Then i added text when the banner was completed I added it to the head of my blog.

After finishing the header I began posting articles on copyright infringement and the process of creating my banner.

File formats

File format

H264- Good quality in a small file format. This file is for video

JPEG- Same as H264 but for still images.

Colour mode

RGB- This colour mode is for online, RGB stands for red, green and blue.

CMYK- cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black) This colour mode is for printing.

Banner

For my blog I created my own personal banner to place at the top of the topics I have discussed about.
I started by using the software Adobe Photoshop I began by opening a new project I set the page, height 275, width 840 and set it onto pixels. We were given a variety of themes for the background I chose a space themed one and a water themed one.

I began by blending the pictures, Photoshop gave a variety of choices I chose the exclusion option which took the colour's from the water shot and brightened up the space shot the stars on the picture became brighter.

After I had blended the themes I was given a selection of brush packs I had chosen a few such as stars, vortex and dragons. I uploaded each brush pack individually and started to experiment with them. The ones I focused on using were the stars pack.

After adding some brush templates I wanted to tweak them I added effects, I had added outer glow which gave me a variety of options to edit the outer glow I had changed the brush colour to white and the outer glow to light blue, I started tweaking on the radius of the outer glow.

Once completed editing the outer glow I went onto a sight called FontSquirrel which allows people to take their fonts and use them for their own purposes I found a font called Quicksand which was quiet a thin font.

After installing the font I had wrote a title for the middle of the banner I wrote my name in the middle after adding text i went onto adding an outer glow for a space feel. I added the same colour's on the text from what I did to the brushes.

When I completed the text I did some last minute editing I had added a meteor and attached an outer glow with a wide radius on the glow.

When I completed my banner I put it as a header on the top of my blog.

What my blog is for?

Why I created my blog?

I was asked to create a blog to post various topics revolving around the media industry and my media course. What I  have included in my blog was pieces of work that I have done in the past and other blogs that have inspired and gave me ideas for my blog. My blog will have sources including still and moving images.

What I hope to achieve from doing all of this is to make my blog as interesting as I possibly can about media, and hopefully throughout the year watch my blog grow and improve I will continue posting my work and other inspirations.

So far I have included a copyright article, various blogs that I have searched through and gotten ideas from. also I have posted adverts that have inspired me for the energy drink advert that is currently in production, also I have include a few unrelated trailers but I put them on because they are so stylized and i think that they are interesting.

Techcrunch are a blog which posts articles about the current gadgets and technology created they describe about the product where it was created, when it was created etc. What I like about this site is that their posts are current and up to date what I don't like is that their site seems very compact and very closed up. Their target audience is based around teenagers to adults 17-35.

The Huffington post is a blog which publishes articles from current events happening in the world, I like this blog because they are frequent with posts and are very detailed with their articles, what I don't like is that their feed is quit cluttered. Their target audience are based on anyone using the internet.
