Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement is when a person will use another users images, video or audio without permission. A lot of internet users use 'Googles images and other sources that they provide, but one thing that people do not assume...Is it copyright?

A lot of people use Google's images for purposes to make their sites more visually appealing or to upload it onto a social networking site etc. Although the images may be 'free to use their a rules to follow to ensure that you don't infringe on copyright.

A majority of internet users will grab photos from Google images and republish them as their own without permission, This is copyright whether intentional or not. Copyright free images is a term that has been overused and confuses people into believing that the photo is their own, the only way you can claim an image is yours is if you create the image and that it is truly an original.

If you Google search copyright free images 930 million images are found. The only images that can be deemed copyright free are those found in the public domain. because public domain have no works of copyright, even though images that are provided in the public domain have no copyright labels they will always belong to the public domain, copyright cannot be restored, so the images you collect from the public domain will never really be yours.

What can happen if you violate copyright?

The least that could happen is the person who originally provided the source can ask you to take down your repost.

If further actions need to be taken under the owners jurisdiction you could be subject to attend a civil lawsuit. If with certain deliberate violations, you could be subject to criminal penalties carrying massive  fines and long prison terms.
